A question I get asked almost weekly is 'what is the difference between a chiropractor and an osteopath?'
The answer could be complex and go into the underlying philosophy and principles or it could be much more simple and meaningful to the person asking.
This time we are going to take the simple route and give you the answer in as little as one paragraph.
Both a chiropractor and an osteopath works mostly with their hands to try and get you out of pain and improve your function and wellness. They often use the same techniques although occasionally will use slightly different techniques. Sometimes a chiropractor will treat in quite an osteopathic way and sometimes an osteopath will treat in quite a chiropractic way. So you see there potentially isn't really much of a difference between the two and both will get you your results. If you really wanted me to give you some answer which focusses on the difference then here you go...a chiropractor traditionally will focus their treatment on the spine and specifically removing subluxations from the spine with adjustments to improve the health of the nervous system and in turn the body. An osteopath will tend to focus their attention more to other structures of the body and worth with muscles and joints to achieve the same result as the chiropractor.
Either way it's just important that you get seen and get a professional examination done so you can begin your journey out of pain and into health.
